Pacing yourself is so important in completing a Triathlon. The power meter is the ultimate tool for accurately staying in those important training zones while training for a triathlon, whether it be an Ironman triathlon or sprint triathlon. Your heart rate power varies on any one given day with stress, caffeine, or fatigue and gives you inaccurate zones that can derail your triathlon training. Power is Power and it doesn’t lie. Regularly testing your Functional Threshold Power (FTP) allows you to keep your zones fine-tuned as your fitness increases.
